La Semilla’s Edible Education Team recently hosted their 2nd Teacher Knowledge Exchange at Zia Middle School in Las Cruces, NM. Teachers learned how to cultivate a school garden with hands-on skills from planting to harvesting and classroom cooking.

BOOST Network celebrated two nights of fun for youth in our community

BOOST kicked off its second Annual Kids Night Out at the 100th Battle of I-10 between UTEP vs. NMSU football game, followed by a soccer match between the FC Juárez Bravos vs. Pachuca.
1,500 children and youth participating in Out-of-School Time (OST) programs in El Paso gathered in UTEP’s Sun Bowl Stadium for a fun night of football on Wednesday, October 18, 2023.

Border Partners new funding to ensure healthier children in Palomas, MX

Border Partners recently launched a new grant effort to promote healthier futures for school children across Palomas.
This initiative will empower healthy eating habits by creating a healthy school environment, which includes targeting more than 700 school children, their teachers, parents, families, and school cooks in nutrition and gardening classes and engaging the children in growing their food at an on-site greenhouse.
