Health Foundation honored with the Fundación Binational Philanthropy Award
September 29, 2025
The Paso del Norte Health Foundation (Health Foundation) was recently honored with the Binational Philanthropy Award ‘Bridges of Wellness’, a recognition established in 2019 by the Fundación Paso del Norte in Cd. Juárez to celebrate outstanding contributions to philanthropy that impact and connect our border cities. The award underscores the Health Foundation’s pivotal role in founding and nurturing its sister foundation in Ciudad Juárez and its ongoing commitment to cross-border grantmaking, collaboration, and community well-being.
For 30 years, the Health Foundation has championed efforts to improve the health and quality of life in our binational, tri-state region, including over $17 million in grant funding for dozens of nonprofit organizations in Ciudad Juárez. From FEMAP/SADEC to OPI and CASA, the Health Foundation has invested in after-school programs, mental health initiatives, diabetes prevention, healthy eating, and teen pregnancy prevention. In partnership with the Fundación PDN, the Health Foundation has additionally supported leadership development, community activation, and violence prevention. These partnerships are fostering sustainable change, reinforcing the shared vision of healthier communities across the border.
Amy Marcus, Health Foundation Board Chair, Tracy Yellen, CEO, and dedicated Foundation staff accepted the award on behalf of the Health Foundation.
The ‘Bridges of Wellness’ sculpture was developed by renowned Chihuahuan artist Pedro Francisco to represent a bridge of philanthropy that unites the communities of El Paso and Ciudad Juárez.
