Celebrating the Retirement of Ida Ortegon

Celebrating the Retirement of Ida Ortegon

November 13, 2025

After nearly 25 years of dedicated service as Director of Communications with the Paso del Norte Health Foundation, Ida Ortegon is retiring. Throughout her tenure, Ida has been an integral part of advancing the Health Foundation’s mission to promote health and well-being across our region — bringing compassion, creativity, and commitment to every initiative she touched.

Before joining the Health Foundation, Ida spent over 18 years at Providence Memorial Hospital, where she launched her lifelong career in health communications and community engagement. At the Health Foundation, she worked closely with grantees, program staff, and partners on initiatives that made a lasting impact — from bringing potable water to colonias in Cd. Juárez and encouraging healthy eating and physical activity to supporting mental health programs throughout the Paso del Norte region.

Ida also played a key role in supporting the Paso del Norte Community Foundation’s communications and fundraising efforts, helping strengthen community partnerships and share inspiring stories of impact.

Reflecting on her time with the Foundations, Ida shared:

“I love my community and am honored to do my part in making a healthy difference. As I step into a new chapter in my life, I’m grateful to Tracy, our board, and all my co-workers, vendors, contract support, and friends who made my day-to-day work possible.”

Please join us in celebrating Ida’s extraordinary career and in wishing her all the best as she embarks on this next chapter — one filled with well-deserved rest, reflection, and new adventures.
