
Health Foundation awards 13 grants totaling more than $1.3 million under Diabetes Initiative

In El Paso, the prevalence of diabetes outpaces the national numbers, with an estimated 15.3 percent of adults, or about 94,000 adults, living with diabetes.
The Paso del Norte Health Foundation recently awarded 13 grants totaling more than $1.3 million under the Disease Prevention & Management priority area to implement initiatives and programs for diabetes prevention, early detection, and management in the region.

Prevención y concientización comunitaria en Ciudad Juárez
To provide diabetes education to 600 people in Ciudad Juárez, MX.
El Paso Diabetes Association, Inc. - $211,358.40
Diabetes Education, Early Detection, and Management
To provide diabetes education, incorporate medical advisory support, expand culinary education, and leverage upgraded data systems for improved health outcomes within the Paso del Norte Region.
