El Paso healthcare workers, the community needs your specialized skills to help with the current surge of COVID-19 cases. EP MedCorps was established earlier this year in order to recruit healthcare volunteers in the event of a crisis.

Recent focus group interviews conducted in the El Paso and Las Cruces area confirmed that middle school and high school-aged students often know more about e-cigarettes and vaping than their parents. The interviews, conducted by the A Smoke Free Paso del Norte, an initiative of the Paso del Norte Health Foundation, in coordination with the YMCA of El Paso, is the basis of a new educational effort designed to inform adults about vaping among kids in the border region.

Dr. Kelly appointed to Children at Risk Board of Directors

Children at Risk has appointed Dr. Michael Kelly, Vice President of the Paso del Norte Health Foundation to its board of directors. The appointment is for a three-year term that includes members from across Texas.
Children at Risk is a nonprofit organization leading the way to improving the quality of life for Texas’ children through research, public policy analysis, education, collaboration, and advocacy.

Enrique Mata appointed by Governor Abbott to Family and Protective Services Council

The Paso del Norte Health Foundation is pleased to announce the appointment of Enrique Mata, Senior Program Officer for the Health Foundation, to the Texas Family and Protective Services Council. This is a position appointed by Texas Governor Greg Abbott for a five-year term.
Council members are charged with studying and making recommendations to the commissioner regarding the management and operation of the Department of Family and Protective Services.
