Helping Kids Explore Healthy Foods through Taster Space

Helping Kids Explore Healthy Foods through Taster Space

July 28, 2025

Introducing kids to healthy eating doesn’t have to be a struggle—it can be fun, creative, and delicious! That’s the idea behind Taster Space, a hands-on program from Desert Spoon Food Hub that invites children and families to discover new fruits and vegetables through crafts, recipes, and interactive activities.

Desert Spoon Food Hub—a local nonprofit dedicated to supporting local farms and improving food access—offers Taster Space as part of its broader mission, which also includes the Spoon Flower Grocery and a weekly Community Farm Box.

With support from the Paso del Norte Health Foundation, Taster Space has grown through strong community partnerships with organizations like PdN Children’s Development Center, the Boys & Girls Club, La Nube, and soon, El Paso Public Libraries.

Families can join in the fun on the first Saturday of each month at La Nube, where kids can enjoy free craft workshops and book readings centered around seasonal fruits and vegetables. Don’t miss the next event on August 2, 2025!
