Health Foundation recognized as Best Place for Working Parents

The Paso del Norte Health Foundation is pleased to announce that it has been acknowledged as a “Best Place for Working Parents.”
In response to a local effort to promote family-friendly business policies, the Health Foundation took the assessment to learn more about its policies for families. The Health Foundation is among hundreds of organizations in Texas and the U.S. that have family-friendly policies and practices that support employees, specifically working parents.

The Paso del Norte Trail is a community-driven, collaborative effort started by the Health Foundation to develop a 68-mile county-wide trail in El Paso County. The goal is to create a regionally significant landmark that promotes active transportation, preserves the history and culture of our region, highlights the Rio Grande River, supports economic development and ecotourism, provides educational and volunteer opportunities, and makes healthy living the easy choice for our unique, binational community.

Foundation CEO reappointed to Dallas Fed's El Paso Branch Board

The Federal Reserve Board of Governors has reappointed Tracy J. Yellen to the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas’ El Paso Branch board of directors.
Ms. Yellen is the chief executive officer of the Paso del Norte Community Foundation, which includes the Paso del Norte Health Foundation, El Paso Giving Day and a growing community of philanthropy.

The Paso del Norte Health Foundation is pleased to announce the election of Charles de Wetter as Chair and Susan Melendez as Vice-Chair for the 2022 Health Foundation Board of Directors. Mr. de Wetter has served on the board since 2018 and as Chair of the Allocations Committee. Mr. de Wetter is a licensed real estate broker in Texas and California. Ms. Melendez has served on the board since 2017 and as Chair of the Finance, Audit and IT Committee. Ms. Melendez is a community advocate.

Paso del Norte Trail Master Plan receives award

The Paso del Norte Health Foundation was recently recognized at the New Mexico Chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects (NMASLA) Design Award Gala in November for the development of the Master Plan for the Paso del Norte Trail.
The 68-mile trail stretches the length of El Paso County from its border with New Mexico to the agricultural areas of the Lower Valley connecting neighborhoods along the route to school, parks, worksites and other destinations, providing a great opportunity for increased physical activity for residents and visitors….
