For the last five years, the El Paso Child Guidance Center has been at the forefront of creating a border community that is trauma-informed. A trauma-informed El Paso is one that recognizes how many youth and their families have been affected by trauma and then creates caring systems of support to help them recover and grow. In the wake of the August 3, 2019, Walmart mass casualty and the many losses families have experienced as a result of COVID-19, a united, coordinated and trauma-informed community is essential for a healthier tomorrow.

Health Foundation Board Chair honored for his commitment to diabetes

Congratulations to Mr. Charles de Wetter, board chair for the Paso del Norte Health Foundation. Mr. de Wetter was recently awarded the Diabetes Champion Coin by the Diabetes Alliance for his commitment to diabetes management and prevention for the residents of our region. Mr. de Wetter has served on the Health Foundation board since 2018 and has been an advocate for diabetes prevention and improving health in our region.

Healthy Eating Call for Letter of Intent (LOI)

The Paso del Norte Health Foundation seeks Letters of Intent (LOIs) from eligible organizations to promote healthy eating, specifically fruit and vegetable consumption. Population and individual-level strategies will be considered.

Juárez Giving Day - Supporting Nonprofit Organizations in the Juárez Community

Fundación Paso del Norte, our sister foundation in Ciudad Juárez, is launching the first Juárez Giving Day in partnership with HIPGive. This online charitable giving campaign will take place from November 8 - 30, to highlight the work of nonprofit organizations and ignite the spirit of giving in the Juárez community.

The Fundación Board has approved $15,000 in matching funds and incentives to help the participating agencies inspire more engagement and donations.

The City of El Paso is offering free COVID-19 testing through kiosks located in various locations across the city.

The kiosks will be open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, except for Al Jefferson – West Transit Center.
