2022 Diabetes Prevention, Early Detection, and Management - Call for Letters of Intent (LOI)

The Paso del Norte Health Foundation (Health Foundation) seeks Letters of Intent (LOIs) from eligible organizations to provide diabetes prevention, early detection, and management. Programs may be related to type 1, type 2, or gestational diabetes. Population, systems, and individual level strategies will be considered. The following categories are of special interest.

However, only 44% of adults with diagnosable mental health problems and less than 20% of children and adolescents receive timely, needed treatment. The Paso del Norte Health Foundation (PdNHF) and El Paso County are Reducing the Risk of COVID-19 by taking vaccines directly to men age 18-50 years old in El Paso – all while giving away free movie tickets and other goodies as an incentive to get vaccinated against COVID-19. According to County data and recent PdNHF focus groups, that demographic group is among the least vaccinated and least inclined to get vaccinated in the region.

Health Foundation awards new grants for youth and mental health

The Paso del Norte Health Foundation recently awarded 11 grants totaling more than $1.6 million under the Healthy Kids and the Mental Health and Emotional Well-being Initiatives.
More than $282,000 was awarded to three nonprofit organizations under the Healthy Kids Initiative. The purpose of this Initiative is to improve a range of health outcomes by engaging disconnected youth in the Paso del Norte region in high quality programs during out-of-school hours.
