The Paso del Norte Health Foundation provides funding opportunities to both current and potential grantees based using a Request for Proposal process. When an open funding opportunity is available, a call for Letters of Intent (LOI) is posted to the Health Foundation website. The dynamics of our every-changing region requires us to ensure that the work we do evolves to meet the needs of our communities. This involves feedback from community leaders and stakeholders, along with a review of demographic and social determinants of health data, benchmarks, and trends that effect our region.
As a result, the Paso del Norte Health Foundation updated comprehensive strategic plans for several initiatives and programs within our three priority areas: Healthy Living, Disease Prevention & Management, and Health Leadership.

Health Foundation announces New Board Officers, Members for 2023

The Paso del Norte Health Foundation is pleased to announce Susan Melendez as Board Chair and Annette Cordova Hoy, M.D. as Board Vice Chair for 2023. A community leader, Ms. Melendez has served on the board since 2017 including two terms as Chair of the Finance, Audit, and IT Committee. Dr. Cordova Hoy is a retired obstetrics and gynecology physician and has served on the board since 2018 including two terms as Chair of the Allocations Committee.

Health Foundation responds to migrant crisis

The Paso del Norte Health Foundation recently awarded two grants totaling $200,000 under the Health Leadership priority area for Community Resilience. The Health Foundation is committed to working with the community in times of crisis and other emergent health needs. Coat Collection for Migrants and Refugees

The Paso del Norte Community Foundation and the Paso del Norte Health Foundation are partnering with local drop-off locations to collect new and gently used winter coats for migrants and refugees being supported by our local community. The Paso del Norte Health Foundation recently awarded 11 grants totaling more than $1.6 million under the Disease Prevention and Management Priority Area Mental Health and Emotional Well-being Initiative.
