Advancing Diabetes Prevention and Management Through Community-Focused Strategies

At the El Paso Center for Diabetes’ 17th Annual Faces of Diabetes Conference, Dr. Michael Kelly, Vice President of Programs at the Health Foundation, shared how health behavior theory informs the planning and evaluation of diabetes awareness campaigns. His remarks highlighted the importance of theory-driven approaches in supporting patients to better manage their condition.

The Health Foundation’s Diabetes Initiative focuses on developing, leading, and funding organizational and systems-level improvements, evidence-based programs, and community outreach to promote diabetes prevention, early detection, and effective management.
