Health Foundation awards new grants for under Healthy Kids Initiative
April 15, 2025
The Paso del Norte Health Foundation has recently awarded 10 grants totaling over $1.1 million under its Healthy Kids Initiative. This Initiative aims to improve a range of health outcomes by engaging disconnected youth in the Paso del Norte region in high-quality programs during out-of-school hours. The Health Foundation refers to “disconnected youth” as people between the ages of 5-17 who lack involvement in out-of-school activities, employment, or access to a trusted adult, positive activities, and safe environments when school is not in session. By investing in these high-quality programs, the initiative seeks to foster healthier behaviors, stronger connections, and reduce risky behaviors among young people across the region.
