Mustard Seed Café Promotes Amigos Healthy Eating and Healthy Living Program

Developing healthy eating habits can reduce the risk of chronic diseases such as obesity, type 2 diabetes, hypertension, and cancer. The Paso del Norte Health Foundation has partnered with a variety of organizations to promote healthy eating across the region.
The Mustard Seed Café and Amigos Garden recently received a grant through the Health Foundation’s Healthy Eating Initiative to provide healthier meals at the cafe with the hiring of a part-time nutrition educator and nutritional and gardening classes to their Vida Natural program participants.

MacKenzie Scott donates $15 million to the Health Foundation for regional health

The Paso del Norte Health Foundation recently received a $15 million gift from philanthropist and author MacKenzie Scott. The one-time, unrestricted gift will support the Health Foundation’s mission to lead, leverage and invest in initiatives, programs and policies that promote health and prevent disease for the residents of our binational, tri-state region.

New media campaign for Diabetes Now What?

Our newest mini-media campaign promotes in a clear voice the Diabetes Now What? website and resources available to our community in both English and Spanish. This campaign will run between mid-September and November and is funded by the Paso del Norte Health Foundation. Flu and COVID-19 Booster Vaccines now available

As we enter the Fall season, it’s important to protect you and your family from the flu and COVID-19. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) encourages individuals to get the flu and COVID-19 vaccines as added protection from viruses that change every year.

Health Foundation Board member honored as 2022 Woman of Impact

Congratulations to Dr. Linda Lawson on being named an El Paso Inc. 2022 Woman of Impact. Dr. Lawson and five other honorees were selected for their positive impact to the community related to health, education, and quality of life.
Dr. Lawson is Group Chief Nursing Officer at The Hospitals of Providence (THOP) and oversees patient care and outcomes within all the THOP health network hospitals. She has served on the Health Foundation Board since 2020 and currently serves on the Allocations Committee.

Providing positive behaviors to children in Ciudad Juárez

A lifestyle that consists of physical activity and proper nutrition is important to one’s overall quality of life. This is why the Paso del Norte Health Foundation partners with nonprofit organizations in the region to promote positive behaviors to improve health and prevent disease.
