Reach Resilience Awards Leadership grant for Children’s Mental Health

February 20, 2024

The Paso del Norte Health Foundation and the Paso del Norte Community Foundation are pleased to announce a $100,000 grant from Reach Resilience, an Endeavors Foundation initiative to emphasize the work of the El Paso Behavioral Health Consortium and partner organizations to improve access to mental health services for children and youth in the El Paso region.

Reach Resilience was established in 2021 to build on Endeavors’ long-standing commitment to serve communities in crisis. Endeavors is a national nonprofit with an important presence in the El Paso area, providing an array of programs and services in support of children, families, veterans, and those struggling with mental illness.

“Reach Resilience is committed to investing in organizations that promote opportunity and well-being,” said Sonya Medina Williams, President and CEO of Reach Resilience. “We are proud to partner with the Paso del Norte Health Foundation and Paso del Norte Community Foundation to advance their important work in children’s and youth’s mental health.”

The El Paso Behavioral Health Consortium was established in 2014 with the support of the Paso del Norte Health Foundation to reduce the burden of mental illness by designing improved, efficient, and patient-centered mental health care for El Paso County residents.

“We are grateful to Reach Resilience for this leadership gift to support the El Paso Behavioral Health Consortium and our community partners working to increase access to mental health services in our region,” said Tracy J. Yellen, CEO of the Paso del Norte Health Foundation and Paso del Norte Community Foundation. “We know that the pandemic has exacerbated mental health challenges among children and youth. We are committed to helping expand services to prevent serious mental illness and help children, youth, and families live healthy, happy, and productive lives.”
