Healthy Eating
A high-quality dietary pattern provides essential nutrients, supports a healthy weight, and plays a critical role in preventing and managing chronic conditions such as diabetes, cardiovascular disease, hypertension, and certain cancers. Strong evidence shows that nutrition education, skill-building, and supportive environments can improve long-term health outcomes even after diagnosis.
The Paso del Norte Health Foundation is redesigning and preparing to relaunch its Healthy Eating initiative to strengthen its focus on nutrition strategies that support disease prevention and management. The Foundation is guiding this work through a regional health needs assessment that will inform future strategy and investments toward 2030.
The Foundation’s previous Healthy Eating initiative laid the necessary groundwork for improving nutrition and physical activity across the region. Resources from this earlier phase remain available for reference below.
