50,000 blue surgical masks donated for El Paso residents

April 19, 2021

The Paso del Norte Health Foundation extends its sincere thanks to Marilyn Levi-Baumgarten and Project N95 for their recent donation of 50,000 blue surgical masks for residents of El Paso. Project N95 is a National COVID-19 PPE and Diagnostic Testing Clearinghouse that helps nonprofits throughout the country who serve diverse populations obtain masks so they can safely continue providing much needed services. Through a partnership with WellMed in El Paso and the Paso del Norte Health Foundation, the masks were delivered and will be distributed by promotoras to families in need across El Paso County as part of the Reduce the Risk outreach efforts. Reduce the Risk is a partnership with several other organizations to provide timely and accurate information regarding COVID-19 health and safety, mental health and well-being, and financial and social services to individuals in El Paso County.

“We are very grateful for the supply of masks for El Paso residents. Vaccination and mask wearing are both important for individuals to reduce the risk of COVID-19” said Tracy J. Yellen, CEO of the Paso del Norte Health Foundation. “Special thanks to WellMed for connecting us with this great donation and continuing to support our community.”
