Two new additions and a promotion to the Health Foundation Team

The Paso del Norte Health Foundation is pleased to welcome Sandra Day and Audrey Garcia to the Foundation team.

Ms. Day brings more than 10 years of experience in the public health sector working for nonprofit, as well as the federal government sector. As an associate program officer, she will respond to trends and activities in the community. She is currently orienting with all program work and will be assigned to specific projects and initiatives later in 2021.

Ms. Day has a Master’s in Public Health and a Bachelor of Science in Health Promotion from The University of Texas at El Paso. She has a passion for helping others and making a difference in her community through public health. She has a unique background in Hispanic Health Disparities and Border/Minority Health. In her spare time, she loves spending time outdoors with her husband and their four children. They love going on walks, playing basketball, kickball, and soccer.

Ms. Garcia brings more than 15 years in project management, consumer engagement and marketing strategy with a focus on health promotion and growing community relationships and communication strategies. As program officer, she will be responsible for some of the Health Foundation’s programs and initiatives. Most recently, she has dedicated her career to local healthcare marketing for The Hospitals of Providence and El Paso Children’s Hospital. This has given her the unique opportunity to understand population health and health behavior.

Ms. Garcia has a Bachelor of Organizational and Corporate Communications from The University of Texas at El Paso. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family and reading Chicano Literature novels.

Also, congratulations to Jana Renner, who was recently promoted to Senior Program Officer. Ms. Renner has been with the Health Foundation for eight years. Her new responsibilities will expand in developing strategic plans and lead grants, projects, and initiatives. She will also support departmental special projects and operations. Ms. Renner has lived in El Paso for more than 20 years and considers it home. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Trinity University and a Master of Public Administration from The University of Texas at El Paso.
