Protect yourself from the sun
May 24, 2017
Follow these 5 steps to protect yourself from the sun.
-
When exercising outdoors, make sure you SLIP on some light-colored clothing. If possible, try wearing some long-sleeved shirts.
-
During the middle of the day the sunrays are the strongest. SLOP on sunscreen with a SPF of 15 or higher. For those individuals that are under medication, make sure you check with your doctor or pharmacist to find what SPF is better for you; some medications can increase the skin sensitivity.
-
Protect your ears, neck and face: SLAP on a wide rim hat.
-
SEEK shade.
-
SLIDE on sunglasses to protect your eyes.
Rule of thumb: Remember to use a sun protector (SPF) of at least 15 or higher, even on cloudy days.
