More than $3.5 million awarded in grants to support COVID-19 relief efforts in the region

The Paso del Norte Health Foundation awarded 35 COVID-19 related grants totaling more than $3.5 million under the Health Leadership priority area to help organizations recover from the COVID-19 pandemic, prepare for a second wave or future crisis, and/or transform their operations for future success.

Funded organizations are:

Alianza para Colaboraciones Fronterizas A.C. - $45,045.00
Efecto Domino. Promotores Comunitarios en Salud y COVID-19
For outreach and education related to COVID-19 by promotoras de salud in the Bella Vista and Alta Vista neighborhoods in the northern area of Ciudad Juárez.

Border Partners - $14,850.00
Pandemic Relief in Palomas, Chihuahua, Mexico and surrounding Communities
To provide pandemic relief in Palomas, Chihuahua, Mexico and surrounding communities.

CASA of El Paso Inc. - $67,000.00
CASA of El Paso-COVID-19 Recovery
To hire an additional Advocate Supervisor and on-board 30 advocates to prepare for a case surge in El Paso, TX.

Center Against Sexual and Family Violence Inc. - $33,039.22
Technology & Communication Solutions for Survivors Amid COVID-19
To address immediate needs and prepare to address future needs for domestic and sexual violence survivors, the grant supports technology upgrades and communication plans in El Paso, TX.

Centro de Asesoria y Promocion Juvenil, A.C. - $68,530.00

To transform the organization by adopting digital technology to modify services and create new ones to serve youth in Ciudad Juárez.

To serve children who are COVID positive while keeping other children and staff safe; to function remotely; and to strengthen board governance, the Child Crisis Center will establish an isolation room, enhance technology, and engage in board coaching at their El Paso, TX location.
