Mental Health support is available in our region
May 23, 2023
It’s Mental Health Awareness Month, and the Health Foundation is proud to support several nonprofit organizations throughout the region focused on mental health and well-being. Below are a few nonprofit organizations working to make an impact in the community.
- The National Alliance on Mental Illness El Paso (NAMI El Paso) offers free educational classes, presentations, advocacy programs, community forums, and support groups in both English and Spanish.
- Centro Caritativo para Atención de enfermos de Sida’s “Plena-Mente” program delivers Mental Health First Aid training to teachers, administrative staff, counselors, and social workers in four secondary schools in southeastern Ciudad Juárez, MX, to support children in a time of need.
- Emergence Health Network’s Mental Health Learning Library provides foundational behavioral health education support free of charge for community members and local professionals. The training team offers the newest, most relevant evidence-based, and evidence-informed training modules. In addition, efforts are focused on accommodating anyone, anywhere, in Spanish and English, and multiple learning styles (in person, virtual or blended).
- The El Paso Behavioral Health Consortium’s Family Leadership Council works with child, adolescent, and family health organizations, other child-serving agencies, and support systems to transform El Paso County into a model community for child and family behavioral health services and support.
