Former Health Foundation Program Officer recognized for her work under Healthy Kids Initiative

September 21, 2021

Congratulations to Bianca De León, former Health Foundation Program Officer, for being recognized as a Health Champion by the Alliance for a Healthier Generation. During National Hispanic Heritage Month, Healthier Generation is celebrating individuals that have worked to create a more just, equitable, inclusive, and healthy future for children and families.

While working for the Health Foundation, Ms. De León led the Foundation’s Healthy Kids Initiative to improve a range of health outcomes by engaging disconnected youth with high quality programs during out-of-school hours. The Health Foundation refers to “disconnected youth” as young people between the ages of 5-17 who are not involved in out-of-school activities or not working.

Healthier Generation works with schools, youth-serving organizations, businesses, and communities to empower kids to develop lifelong healthy habits by ensuring the environments that surround them provide and promote good health.
