Draper Richards Kaplan Foundation to partner with Health Foundation to fund nonprofit organization
February 17, 2022
The Paso del Norte Health Foundation in partnership with the Draper Richards Kaplan Foundation (DRK) recently invited several local nonprofit organizations that promote health and prevent disease to participate in an information session to identify at least one local organization to be included in the DRK portfolio.
Michelle De La Isla, Managing Director of Draper Richards Kaplan Foundation, spoke to the group on the criteria for funding. The selected organization(s) would receive financial support in the form of an unrestricted $300,000 grant over three-years along with directives that must be obtained during the funding years.
“We appreciate the great work nonprofit organizations are doing in our community with regard to health. We’ve engaged DRK and their proven model to help build capacity and scale for at least one organization in our region,” said Tracy J. Yellen, CEO of the Paso del Norte Health Foundation. “The funding that we have invested in this partnership will support organizations working to solve challenging problems in health and bring national awareness about our community and the support needed.”
Draper Richards Kaplan Foundation is the largest social venture funder in the United States. Founded in 2002, DRK has invested in more than 195 early-stage organizations, many of whom are legends in their sectors and spaces—including Kiva, EducationSuperHighway, One Acre Fund, Room to Read, Living Goods, Last Mile Health and many others. DRK is founded on the belief that with bold support, extraordinary leaders with great ideas can change the world.
