Diabetes Summer Kid’s Camp

July 26, 2023

The El Paso Center for Diabetes hosted the Yolanda Arriola’s Kid’s Camp this July for children ages 5-12 with Type 1 diabetes. With funding support from the Paso del Norte Health Foundation, children enjoyed fun activities, met some furry four-legged friends, participated in several outside excursions, were superheroes for a day, and learned about managing their diabetes during the three-day camp.

“Camp is one of the best experiences that a child with diabetes can have. This year we changed up our curriculum to include learning about self-confidence, independence, and simply having a great time!” said Sandra Gonzalez Executive Director. “Thank you to everyone who helped make this event such a success and to our sponsors who allow us to offer camp free of charge.”
