Community outreach students receive certification

In partnership with the University of Texas at El Paso, the Health Foundation recently presented certificates of completion for the Diabetes Awareness Training Program for Community Outreach students working towards a Bachelor of Science in Public Health degree at UTEP. The training consisted of three 1-hour sessions that included topics such as what is diabetes?, signs and symptoms, general guidelines for healthy eating and physical activity, and community resources available to be tested and manage diabetes. The training also included public speaking strategies and adult learning strategies. Students received certificates of completion from Dr. William Robertson, Dean of the College of Health Sciences, and Dr. Michael Kelly, Health Foundation Vice President of Programs.
