Act, give, change – the Paso del Norte Community Foundation reminds the community to take part in the region’s largest and most significant day of charitable giving.
El Paso Giving Day was founded in 2016 by the Paso del Norte Community Foundation and is a charitable giving campaign designed to shine a light on the essential work of nonprofit organizations and ignite the spirit of giving in our community. This year, El Paso Giving Day will take place on Thursday, October 20. For nonprofits in our binational, tri-state region, that means it’s also time to get your nonprofit organization registered to participate by September 30.
Last year, 213 nonprofits participated, raising over $1.2 million dollars from over 5,000 donors and over 7,000 donations. Participating nonprofit organizations are diverse and provide essential services for the region’s most vulnerable communities in areas such as health, education, social services, environment, arts and quality of life in our region.
Small, medium and large nonprofits in the Paso del Norte region are welcomed to join and register; from large well-established organizations like the Boys and Girls Club of El Paso to younger ones like Chica Chat. Many nonprofits find that El Paso Giving Day isn’t just an effective way to encourage the community to give back to their organization, but it helps them raise awareness for their cause and gain momentum towards achieving larger goals. El Paso Giving Day is an incredible example of how even the minimum donation of $10 can go a long way towards helping to transform our community for the better. By registering your nonprofit for Giving Day, you become part of our vibrant Community of Philanthropy and open the doors to new donors – many of whom may have never given to a nonprofit before.
Act. Give. Change. These three words embody what El Paso Giving Day is all about in the Paso del Norte region. It is a day critical to ensuring the long-term success of individual nonprofits. But, more importantly, it builds a stronger, more resilient Community of Philanthropy. We encourage you to give this year on October 20 or during the period of Early Giving, which runs from October 13-19. Visit elpasogivingday.org to learn how to register or to see a complete list of participating nonprofits and make your contributions of $10 or more.
