Healthy Kids Initiative Call for Letters of Intent

The Paso del Norte Health Foundation seeks Letters of Intent (LOIs) from eligible organizations to advance the Health Foundation’s Healthy Kids Initiative. Deadline to submit LOIs is Wednesday, September 14, 2022.
Areas of focus include:
- Increasing the number of disconnected youth ages 5-17 years old who participate in out-of-school time (OST) programs. Health Foundation awards new grants for healthy eating & physical activity

The Paso del Norte Health Foundation recently awarded 14 grants totaling more than $2 million under the Healthy Living priority area. The Healthy Living, Disease Prevention & Management, and Health Leadership are the three priority areas that drive our work, in partnership with organizations that implement initiatives and programs to improve health in the region.

Adult Fruit and Vegetable Consumption

Staffer to serve on Texas School Health Advisory Committee

Congratulations to Michael Kelly, Vice President of Programs for the Paso del Norte Health Foundation, on being selected to the Texas School Health Advisory Committee (TSHAC).
Dr. Kelly will represent the Organization and Agencies committee category for a term ending in 2026.
The TSHAC assists the Department of State Health Services to support and coordinate school health programs and school health services. It also provides leadership to identify and disseminate school health best practices and resources for school policy makers.
2021 Annual Report - Investing in Positive Behaviors

In 2021, the Paso del Norte Health Foundation worked to promote health and prevent disease through grantmaking, collaboration, communications, and advocacy in three main priority areas – Healthy Living, Disease Prevention and Management and Health Leadership.
To promote positive behaviors that included healthy eating, physical activity, smoking/vaping prevention, and disconnected youth, the Health Foundation invested $3.5 million to support 44 grants under the Healthy Living priority area.
