Follow these 5 steps to protect yourself from the sun.

  • When exercising outdoors, make sure you SLIP on some light-colored clothing. If possible, try wearing some long-sleeved shirts.

  • During the middle of the day the sunrays are the strongest. SLOP on sunscreen with a SPF of 15 or higher. For those individuals that are under medication, make sure you check with your doctor or pharmacist to find what SPF is better for you; some medications can increase the skin sensitivity.

Playa Drain Trail Community Meeting

To keep El Pasoans safe and active, the Paso del Norte Health Foundation is partnering with the City of El Paso and El Paso Water to build a linear trail from Ascarate Park to Riverside High School. The planned Playa Drain Trail will run parallel to loop 375/border highway on the banks of a former irrigation ditch.
