Playa Drain Trail Construction Update

Certain parts of the Playa Drain trail are starting to take shape. Construction crew continue to connect sections of the trail along Hidden Valley to Riverside High School.

This 3.4-mile segment of the Playa Drain Trail project is a partnership of the Paso del Norte Health Foundation (Health Foundation), City of El Paso and El Paso Water. The Health Foundation is contributing $2.5 million for the design and construction of the trail from Ascarate Park to Riverside High School. Health Foundation announces new Board Chairs and Members

The Paso del Norte Health Foundation is pleased to announce the reelection of Sharon Butterworth to serve additional year 2018-19 as Board Chair. Ms. Butterworth has served on the board since 2013 and is a community advocate on mental health issues.

Ruben Guerra was appointed as Vice-Chair. He has served on the board since 2016 and is President and CEO of Guerra Investment Advisors.

El Pasoans receive free dental care services through generous contributions

On April 13 and 14, the El Paso District Dental Society partnered with the Texas Dental Association’s Smiles Foundation, Paso del Norte Charitable Foundation and dedicated volunteers to bring the largest, two-day dental clinic to El Paso. The Texas Mission of Mercy (TMOM) is a mobile dental clinic that travels around the state providing free basic dental care to Texans with limited resources and/or access to care.

Construction continues on the Playa Drain Trail

Construction crews continue to make progress on the Playa Drain Trail – most recently leveling the ground and adding concrete curbs that will be filled with asphalt from Carolina and Durrill Streets, and Mimosa Street to Riverside High School.

Construction is on schedule to be completed by the end of August 2018.
