Specifically, the Foundation seeks LOIs that propose evidence-based strategies to advance the goals of the initiative. Preference will be given to proposals that address one of the following:
Promote, advocate for, or analyze organizational or community-level policy or systemic changes aimed at helping adults quit, preventing the initiation of tobacco use among young people, reducing exposure to secondhand smoke, or reducing tobacco use among populations disproportionally affected by tobacco use.
Implement and explore sustainability of evidence-based individual-level interventions.
Note: School-based approaches should be submitted by schools or school districts. Programs implemented during the school day should be delivered by trained professional educators working for the schools.
What We Will Fund
Eligible applicants include nonprofit tax-exempt organizations, including churches and units of government, located in the Paso del Norte Region See the Paso del Norte Health Foundation website HERE for more information on grant guidelines.
Applicants are also encouraged to speak with Enrique Mata, Senior Program Officer about the LOI or the full proposal process.
- Letters of intent due to Foundation: September 10,2018
- Invitations for full proposals announced: September 26, 2018
- Full proposals due: October 29, 2018
- Funding cycle starts: March 1,2019, but other dates may be proposed
Eligibility And Selection Criteria
Letters of Intent will be reviewed, and selected applicants will be invited to submit a full proposal. Selection of LOI proposals will be based on alignment of proposed program to strategic plan goals and objectives and organizational mission fit and history with the proposed program.
