Paso del Norte Health Information Exchange

The Paso del Norte Health Information Exchange (HIE) is a non-profit organization created with the purpose of improving the quality of health care in the community we serve. Members of the HIE plan to work together as a collaborative of major and community health care providers through the secure sharing of privacy-protected health information about patients and the sharing of best practices for the improvement of care. Members include hospitals, physicians, allied health providers, outpatient clinics, pharmacies, labs, and imaging centers, to name a few.

The ability to exchange health information electronically is the basic and critical capacity of data accessibility and data sharing that is the foundation for improving healthcare in the United States. Health Information Exchanges make all relevant patient information available where it’s needed, when it’s needed, and by whom it’s needed.
